It was my wedding anniversary yesterday, so decided to make a card for my other half. Having small children gives you an excellent excuse to mess about with tissue paper and glue, so I raided their well-stocked craft box for supplies. My inspiration was the Yeats poem 'He wishes for the cloths of heaven' here which set me to thinking about the sparkly gold thread in my tapestry kit.
The main materials are strips of tissue paper over a base of card, I like the contrast effect at the edges, a bit like a watercolour wash. I used PVA glue which did mean that things got a bit wet, and the card warped a little. I'm sure there's a better adhesive for this sort of thing. If I'd had more time I would have flattened it in a big heavy dictionary!
