Studio Upstairs

Normally on a Friday I would be heading off to do some volunteering for Studio Upstairs, an amazing organisation that provides artistic resources and support to adults experiencing mental and emotional distress and in drug and alcohol recovery. The aim is to be a therapeutic arts community - a 'safe space' for their members.

I started working for them back in November last year, and have been developing a contacts database for them. I really enjoy my Fridays there, the studio is a very welcoming place.  However, like many charities at the moment, they are really feeling the pinch financially. They provide a really high quality service on a tiny budget and are needed now more than ever.  If you would like to support their work, you can join their Friends scheme for just £30 a year.

OK - sales pitch over, but seriously, they are a great organisation...
